Take one of Shakespeare’s most popular and important romantic comedies and put it in a steampunk background and you have MVLCT’s fun summer romp! Twelfth Night has inspired adaptations and reimaginings for centuries and MVLCT did not disappoint. And its focus on complicated issues of gender, class, and same-sex attraction make it relevant to our current cultural moment.

In its premiere MVLCT production on the FSCC stage, Amy White's play Animal Facts involved several dozen actors of all ages, eleven directors, three writers, two visual artists and a musician. Local writers Tony Craine and Josh Woosley each contributed a short piece to add to Amy's original collection of six. Introductory sections gave student actors the job of breaking down the "facts" of each piece. Live art and music were also part of the transitions between scenes. Amy's play has moved on to be performed by a community theatre group in Grinnell as well as our local middle school, with new pieces added and more animal behaviors explored.
