Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Theatre is looking for a director for its first annual Summer Shakespeare production.
MVLCT is a nonprofit organization in its forty-first year of productions. Its current home is in the First Street Community Center, Mount Vernon’s former middle and high school building.
The Summer Shakespeare component will be staged outdoors in Mount Vernon’s Memorial Park with performances coordinated with the Lincoln Highway Arts Festival on the weekends of September 11 and 18.
The show selected for 2021 is A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the MVLCT board of directors is open to ideas that take advantage of the outdoor setting and celebrate the arts community.
COVID mitigation is of the highest priority and the board will work with the director to ensure that the audition, rehearsal and performance processes are safe for all involved.
There is a stipend provided for MVLCT directors.
If you are interested in directing, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact information, resume and ideas for our show by March 15.
