MVLCT announces auditions for The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Come one, come all and experience the magical tale of a rabbit in search of himself and in turn, his home. Auditions for MVLCT’s The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane will be held on Sunday, December 12 and Monday, December 13 at 7 PM in the Uptown Theatre in the First Street Community Center at 221 E. 1st Street, Mount Vernon.
Adapted for the stage by Dwayne Harford from Kate DiCamillo’s book for young readers, Edward tells the tale of a selfish China doll rabbit who loses his owner but slowly finds himself. His journey carries him across the early parts of the 20th century. Edward Tulane is a children’s show in nature, but really is an American folklore tale for all ages.
Actors sixteen and up are invited to audition. We’re looking for a cast between six and nine, with one musician (guitar/ukulele) and two puppeteers. No preparation is necessary. Show dates are February 25, 26, 27 and March 4, 5, and 6 (total of six shows). Rehearsals will begin in early January. Grant Freeman is directing; please email him at email@example.com with questions.
